Steel and Wire Products was founded by Conrad Buedel in 1929 in downtown Baltimore. The focus was hand drive nails sold directly to the contractor. Much of Baltimore was built with nails from Steel and Wire. Conrad's son, J. Conrad Buedel started at Steel and Wire in 1956 and ultimately moved the company to a larger facility outside the city in the early 1970s. As the company grew customers enjoyed good service and looked to buy additional items. During the same time period, Steel and Wire shifted their sales focus to selling retail lumberyards and building supply houses. The company quickly expanded into screws and then collated nails. Always keeping their focus on Quality - Progress -Service. Major brands started to notice the value Steel and Wire delivered and looked to them to distribute their products. Today we are a major distributor of leading brands of metal connectors, fasteners, caulks, sealants, adhesives and poly. In the late 1970s Mark, J. Conrad's son started his career at Steel and Wire and today is the president. In 2009 Mark hired his son Reid and then a few years later hired his other son Scott to continue the tradition to 100 years and beyond!

Today we're in a new facility in Baltimore and have expanded our distribution north with a new warehouse in Connecticut served by 25+ field sales and 10+ inside salespeople. Many of our team have worked their entire career at Steel and Wire with 10, 20, 30, and even 40 years at Steel and Wire! As our market focus reaches west and south as well; and we understand that we need to earn the business and be our dealer's best option for all products we carry.

The Bullseye® Brand continues to evolve and we are developing the most complete line of fasteners that are the best option for each project. The focus is to continue to be the Carpenters Choice Since 1929.
